Maya for 3D Printing - Rapid Prototyping
In this course we're going to look at something a little different, creating technically accurate 3D printed parts.

Thanks louis and mastoneuser added image ! This is within the guidelines for the pirate competition? If so that would be great! im not sure if ill make the whole skeleton, i might have his arm with his skull slumped on his arm. thanks for the little concept, im following it for the most part! Heres an update with the doubloons, had to add a dirty look to em. ill probably add some more detail to em eventually.

Great progress, although putting a lens in the scope would make sense

thanks for the critz & comments! i really need them. I lowered the bump on the scope significantly, but id like to ask...
How do I add myst? That would be perfect to add but dont know how... and why would the lense make no sense?

Ahhhh!!! sorry i think i had some version of dyslexia going on there... I actually do have a lens in there but the texturing is done so bad that it looks like crap. So ill redo that. Im also stuck at trying to figure out how to capture all of this in one render, but still having the key as the main focus!?user added image user added image

Really cool work! I was wondering though, is that skull from a tiny, tiny person, or is the pirate a giant? :p

Actually its the skull of an evolved midget orangutan which was then shrunken (god knows how they shrunk the skull) and placed on a key!
Its actually not a real skull, i gave it the same old metal like texture (didnt add rust yet) to the whole key since the skull itself is also metal, its not real.:p

Heres a what i have so far for the scene setup. Ill be placing the key on the platform, with the chest up the stairs in that little oval extrusion. Ill be modeling some statues for decor now, and make some new pillars.

I probably wont be using that setup. Ill figure that out once im done the models... Heres the start i made in the past half hour. I started the ribcage, and will be messing around with the skull to make it look different. This will be the Pirate skeleton. Ill be making him look very much like a pirate!
