Over the last couple of years UV layout in Maya has changed for the better. In this course we're going to be taking a look at some of those changes as we UV map an entire character
Here are some ideas that might help:
* Break about half of the structure on the back.
* Put some landscape instead. a downhill with a river in the background for an example.
* Make some holes in the roof on the right.
* Exchange the arc for a simple low gate (the arc doesn't fit well in my opinion).
* I think a windmill will look pretty good with the landscape idea if you'll find a place for one.
Haha great minds think alike, i was going to do all the things you said. Yeah i agree how the arc how it does not fit in, i am thinking of putting just a broken up wooden fence, and will definitely put a windmill whilst also have a bit of a hill.
Don't wanna say it but sorry guys, i am out. Schools been punishing me with lots of homework and tests everyday since i only have roughly about 2 weeks of exams then schools finished. After exams i roughly have about a 2 month holiday, so thats plenty of time to enter the next challenge without no hassles or anything.
Thanks everyone who supported me and critiqued my work I learned two things whilst doing this challenge. First is NOT to WASTE time and second of all to finally know the basics of texturing finally.
Sorry to hear your dropping out man. The entry was looking first rate! I'll barely have mine ready before the extended deadline is up. It looks like the final entries are going to be sparce this time. 2 months is pretty short, it's over before you know it.
