Thx Chirone that actually helps a lot. Now if I can just figure out how to deform his mouth to animate a smile he would be set.

I've seen the blendshape tutorial and I kinda figured that's what I need, but the video doesn't really cover the best way to move the geometry without causing clipping. I might of added way to many subdivision of geometry to soon in order to get the two separate blendshapes Ill post a wire of my face

Yeah, that's looking much much better. His lower eyelids are not noticeable anymore either which is perfect. You're doing good user added image. And yeah, I don't think I'd be all that happy with my parts showing too.

One thing that's throwing me off right now is the nose. He shouldn't really have noticeable nostrils. It should be more of a nub just sticking out if that makes sense.

lol, we working you hard on this one but you've been a good sport and doing an awesome job implementing improvements. True sign of a great artist!

Edit: oh yeah, and it might look better if you can pull the back part of his ears outward a little so that his ears are a little more noticeable from the front view. Ok, done nitpicking user added image

Lol I never cut nostrils in so maybe the nose is just a little to small or upturned Ill have to look into that tomorrow. I will also try to pull the ears out a little. This is probably one of my best models yet so I really appreciate all of the help I am learning a ton on this one. keep the feedback comming. user added image

Thanks I appreciate it. Serzz

I also am very happy everyone else joined in and started posting their WIPs the competition helps me to push myself and not give up. I have tons of unfinished models because I get bored with them or feel like I don't know where to go next with them. That's why these competitions are so good to have they help keep me on track user added image

Update

Okay here is my update and possibly my entry for the contest as things are starting to get a little crazy around here with the baby coming possibly sooner than we had anticipated. I fixed the Ears pulled them out, I adjusted the boot, Finally cut in the Nostrils and fixed the nose, changed the blaster texture, and Tweaked a few of the render values, and added in my Logo for J3D.

I watched this movie the other night, it's great. And that's looking really good for a final render, there's a lot of nice detail so well done especially with a baby on the way because you must be so busy getting things ready. Hope everything will go well with the delivery and all the best for the new year as a father.

Few more views

I thought I would give a closer image of the robot side and the blaster since they get kinda dark with the shadows in my other render
