i think you should start over. i found myself that models which i thought looked awesome were in actuality pretty shitty so i redid them a few times before i started to realize what i was doing wrong in the first place. if you want to become good at modeling redo things. I find that people who complement you too much to make you feel good is hurtful to your progress and growth. By being critizied pretty harshly i started to realise i wasn't right and that the people critiscizing me were really pointing out things that needed to be fixed and changed or redone.
try and build the basic body of your dragon similar to the real-life muscle structure of an animal such as a lizard or look in a dino book and check out how the prorotions of some of the creatures that are in there. your dragon can look however you want it but it wont look good unless you give it well made muscle structure and proportions. also i dont think you should be using sub-d's just yet. stick with just nurbs or polys.
sorry if this sounds cold but someone has to say it.
i hope you take what i post into good consideration. if not then i will have to be truly harsh. btw i can show you how shitty my first models were. =P
