Because it resides in memory. You can format all you want but you wont get rid of it. So far I've done it three times before I knew what was really going on.
Ok guys. I need some help here.
1. My antivirus says I'm not infected. The Symantec "fix" also says I dont not have the virus.
2. Searching in regedit, I've found instances of bill.exe, billy.exe, and msblast.exe, however, I deleted those manually.
3. When I go online up pops the SVCHOST error.
So, since I can't do anything online because of this bug, and since my antivirus and symantec says it aint on my system, what am I to do?
I downloaded the patch fix, but it requires at least SP2 to work, which I do not have, unfortunately, due to the reformatting. So, I'm kinda stuck here. I can't get the service pack to run the patch fix. Does anyone know a way around this?
Mmmm.... Linux is looking might purty right about now.
Safe Mode does exactly the same Your PC reboots after 2 minutes (well... my collegue's pc at home did that)ohh, btw, try this. Disconnect your internet. restart your computer into Safe Mode with Comand Prompt. Go dir, if msblaster.exe shows up, go rmdir ms balst.exe, and restart your computer. That sould do it... right?
