Complex UV Layout in Maya
Over the last couple of years UV layout in Maya has changed for the better. In this course we're going to be taking a look at some of those changes as we UV map an entire character

Here another

I don't know how to render the hardware shader with the wire? So that why there is two images here.

You know i'm not very happy with the lighting either, I never have been with any of my scenes. I just don't know how to use the light in maya yet, as I've only had maya 4.5 complete 11 months, and before that never use a 3D program.

Anyway I appreciate you helping me out here.

Here the light setup:

That last one is coming along. If you raise the diffuse, it enhances the edges of where the light doesn't shine. How many light sources do you have. Try an obnoxios volume light coming from the tv with a fractal noise in the fog and adding a real light fixture above the living room that will allow you to emit light more evenly and realistcally, or a lamp on the table next to the tv will add good volume light, and should be there.

I usulally use volume lights, view thier limits, and overlap them so they blend into each other - I think cosine is the setting???? Sorry, I am not near Maya ;( You definitely want to kill the shadow on the side of the kitchen bar, it is illogical to the overhead lighting. I am a noob though, so just do what is realistic. Keep going!!!!!

I am glad you liked my vision user added image

you could give the tv a blue light ... that way you could see the front person but the dark atmosphere would still be there.

maybe give the montior a bit blue light too ... that would be a nice contrast to the white light in the background

very nice so far! I think maybe you should try to have a bit more contrast in your lighiting; the whole thing doesn't need to be light or dark. Your current lighting setup isn't doing your excellent modelling and textureing justice. Just light areas that you want to place influence on, and fade the light off in places that you want to just be background. You can always use a light with a negative value to darken places that don't cooperate.

Here's a quick adjustment in PS. Not the best, but it gets my meaning across...

Keep it up!
