BTW: It might look more complicate than it really is. I just had to instance the most detail-geometry. I made a group for these details, so that I can hide them when they aren't used, otherwise it's nearly impossible to rotate the perspective anymore.. I need a new CPU, I know...
Yes, kbrown, you're right, I rendered without raytracing, scince I thought my computer would crash when I rendered with, but I figured out that it just lasts a bit longer than usual rendering... Well.. 32minutes... I added a bit Paint Effects to my newly created landscape (the previousley one was a polygonal mesh, then I figured out that I had to use nurb-surfaces for paint effect )...
BTW: I'd love to tell you how I achieved the ripple effect, but I was unable, not to say to dumb, to reproduce it. Basically I used 4 or 5 nonlinear wavedeformers on a polygonal mesh with 100*100 divs and moved them a bit, but I simply don't remember how or where I moved them...
I will let it render for about 7 days (I will be on holiday in a few days), as a single image in the resolution I want to go for takes appr. one hour, but I am afraid that the disk-space will not be sufficent..
The Disc on which I installed Maya4.5 has 2,9 free GB, the other one has about 5GB but I could clean that one up a bit I think...
I want to render a Video in 1024*768 resolution and the animation has 200 frames, so how big will it turn out to be? Would it be possible to render even every 0.7/0.5 Frame?
Is there a way to directly compress the video, or shall I render it picturewise and someway configure Maya to save them as jpg??
Any suggestions are highly welcome!
..oh and BTW: I've been off this site for some time now, so I guess I am not completely up-to-date. Where is the "How Did I?" forum section and my tutorial on creating 3D-anaglyph Images?
Well, then I guess it's understandable that you removed it :p ..
Did you move my Tutorial to another section? I' love to see a few anaglyph-3D-shots of the works and finished projects from all the other members. It's so easy to do if you know how and the effect (often) is great! There're so many things I've seen here that lend themselves to 3d-presentation
I hope my Tut isn't completely lost
Oh, and any comments on my problem with my disk space and the animation? I will provide a playblast of my animation, soon!
