I'm in awe!

Is this a personal project? The amount of detail is astonishing! I can't wait to see more.

Take it easy,

Mat.

How did you get that old style camera effect by the way?

Cheers guys!
Lipski: It was really hard to find some good reference footage for the effect... If someone knows any good resources let me know user added image Anyway, I think I remember that the Pearl Harbour movie did this effect in some way... see if I can borrow it from someone...

How the effect was done... I used three different layers I painted in Photoshop:

They are then put in the comp and animated. I drew every dustframe by hand 85 of them user added image

Superb work man, try the north west film archive, they have some old film clips you can download.

I think that the "dust and scratches" are from the cellulite breaking down on the film (called vinegar syndrome, as it smells like vinegar when it happens)

Bit of useless trivia there!!

Working on the particles as well. I'll need to put in alot more debris. There should also be some smalle smoke clouds when some of the bullets hit the plane... well, back to Maya user added image

well looks stunning, very proffesional. Cant see really anything wrong with it except a tiny outline which seems to be caused by the DOF...dont know if it can be fixed unless u take the plane into another layer...bloody good tho user added image

Thank you guys!

Well, here we go... Guess it's the first time you can check it out with sound and most of it renderd. Still some stuff to do and change, but for a quick pre edit I guess it will do...
Some comp stuff to sort out, colour correction, reflections and edges. More particles to do as well. See if I get time this weekend...
anyway, enjoy and all comments are welcomed!

Full Res Version apprx. 43mb

Half-Res Version approx. 16mb

Take care
/Chris
