This course contains a little bit of everything with modeling, UVing, texturing and dynamics in Maya, as well as compositing multilayered EXR's in Photoshop.
eeeghh a double post, ah well, making some progress today. The picture lights and diamond lights have been modelled and placed in the museum. Also i've started to finish off the tools modelling. This is the mace, which isn't going to be used by the character but will be seen littering the floor in one of the scenes.
heh nice composite there, though any similarities are coincidental...honest
Anywhoo it's update time. Today i've been modelling the anvil, in one scene of the film the character suspends an anvil above the case and drops it from a great height. The anvil then cracks and breaks apart.
Image 1 - the anvil before it is damaged
Image 2 - the anvil with cracks
Click here for a short animation test to show you what i'm talking about.
thanks anhslaught, essentially the cracks were animated by setting up a few blendshapes where the edges move in towards the centre of the geometry. It also allows me to control the speed in which the cracks appear.
here is the latest render of the tools. Still a couple left to be modelled.
I've finished modelling the bag today (modelling almost done :attn: ) Only thing is i'm not really sure how to animate the zip opening up. If anyone has any ideas they'd be more than welcome, essentially all I want is for the zip to come apart as the zipper is pulled down the bag.
well I see 2 ways of doing it the second I`m shocked you did not come up with.
1) just animate the zip part and not the teeth and angle the shot so you don`t see them (something like the lame image I just did (see below)
but with this you would have to model a second open bag
2) Remove the zip part for now and blend shape the top of bag and the teeth apart (like the cracks you did on the anvil) and then render the zip seperlatly and composit over the top
