Me personally, I like the size fo the beak, I would make it shaper and then widen how the upper mouth area(from the eyez-beak). The mesh is looking better so far. Keep it up, try getting the details in now because it will be alot harder the further along you get.

I can see his 'seagull' point of view, perhaps raise the brows up and make more opposing and put some spikes on them too , and perhaps some spine definition down the back of the neck and a frill under the neck/chin area

That should keep you busy

Cheers

Hey bro... watch out there... maybe your snout is too rounded... expand the top jaw and brows a little...
See if your image plane is close to what Kurts tutorial shows... remember these are guidlines and will help you alot when starting out...

Don't worry I'm also learning, just get all the basic shapes and then go in and tweak it alot, take your time.
Here is my first model I worked on and it was also Kurts tutorial, just use some ideas... it is far from perfect though!

Good start, work smart!

Its moving along well.. as far as details go it comes with time and practise and a lot of push and pulling of all the points.

It's true what Kurt just said,
it comes along with practise!

Never give up, if it gets frustrating... have a break...
Then go at it again! and again! and you get the picture.
The way you learn is to make mistakes, That is sure
how I have been learning and sure is the case in my
dragon head model, there are tons of things wrong with it! user added image

you'll learn what to do and what not to. Just keep at it bro, you'll do great.

That was an important lession I was taught at Escape Studios. Sometimes it is better, quicker and easer to scrap the lot and start again rather than try and repare it.

Good luck mate and give us some pics as soon as possible.

Hey there mmoore,

glad you've not given up on it. I'm sure you learnt a whole load from your first attempt so it's not been on vain, good luck with mark 2.

Take it easy,

Mat.
