Maya 2020 fundamentals - modelling the real world
Get halfway through a model and find it's an unworkable mess? Can't add edge loops where you need them? Can't subdivide a mesh properly? If any of this sounds familiar check this course out.

first walk cycle: Trying to make it look heavy and a little (but not too much) cumbersome.... He's got a little stamping action going on. I like the stamp, but the down side of that is it all gets a little snappy towards the rear. Tweaks a plenty today....

Its about 4mb, as I have included the cycle from a few different angles (3)

Next up, a few poses and runs to poses, plasma rifles blasting etc etc etc.

OK, did a run cycle.

Straight of the bat, im not that happy with it. It may be the camera angles, and only the last one really portrays his size. Imagine he's 18 feet tall, and chasing you, and you kinda get the idea.... Or, if you looked in your rear view mirror, this is all you would see...but it feels lacking in weight still. So tweaking it today, and maybe adjusting the clips in the trax editor to shave 4-5 frames of the cycle.....

But here it is so far....

Cheers Rubber,

Its the start of a much longer piece. I'm aiming to do 140 frames a day at this pace....

Awsome work, that must have taken ages to unwrapp. walk cycle is a bit jerky, i spose thats to be expected but would be good to be a little smoother.
top work
