This course will look in the fundamentals of modeling in Maya with an emphasis on creating good topology. It's aimed at people that have some modeling experience in Maya but are having trouble with
complex objects.
Your vehicle design skills have taken a quantum leap since last I checked. This speeder has a real 'stripped down for speed' feel. This is not to say that your previous designs were lacking in any way. I am just commenting on the inevitable improvements that artists go through from piece to piece. Do you ever find yourself wanting to go back and make wholesale changes to items/characters you finished a year ago for OUTLAWS? Do you fight these urges or give in from time to time ... or all the time?
Its been too long my friend ... so much to talk about ... I will write soon.
Good to hear from you! Many thanks for the kind words. Ive been looking at alot of higher quality work over at cgsociety, and it just made me rethink my way of doing stuff. I generally like to keep stuff simple so the viewer isnt bombarded with too
much info but then again if stuff isnt there people notice that too, so theres a catch 22 situation.
So this was born out of shear artists' frustration from those viewings so I did a few sketches during rendertime at work, and this 'baby' was delivered shortly after. It needed to have 'pure speed' written on it, instead ofthe bulky engined version of before. Iveactually redesigned her space craft too, thats also in the works to be modeled at some point.
Ive looked at all my main characters in the last year and they are in for a rebuild too, starting with the ol' sheriff character next month, now I have Zbrush things have taken a turn there too, so much more can be done now....
Hey Guys
Body color is pretty much done, Im moving onto the engine, which will get the 'heated' look on it, I'll be using purples, blues and yellows over stainless steel, like custom bike exhausts...
