It is quite a difference from the clean kitchen feel, but still not "mad" enough for me. I think keep going with the clutter, and adding some definite indications of what crazy project is he working on would be a plus.

It's nice and shadowy in the corners, how many light did you use?

Very nice! I like the messy cupbroad and the different perspective this time. I would suggest do something to the cream-yellow wall, maybe make it dirty or textured, I think it'll furthur diminish the tidy look.
