This course will look at the fundamentals of modeling in Maya with an emphasis on creating good topology. We'll look at what makes a good model in Maya and why objects are modeled in the way they are.

very nice : ) i noticed you have some triangles in there..is that a problem when it comes to smoothing? ive always heard that it adds more complexity to the mesh

Ya i have a few tri's.. but it shouldn't hurt the mesh.. its ok to have a few in a model... I'll clean it up a bit more before the end also. Its important to trya dn keep as many quads as you can but sometimes you need s few to get the shape you need...

in the past ive had what i thought was a clean mesh, all quads..but when it was smoothed it turned into a mess...do you know why something like that would happen?

Maybe some of the vertices aren't connected?

I think you should make the nose more short because if this animal stands then his nose is on the ground when he doesnt hold it up....(bad english i know)

I think its all spot on as it is, and if it was me I would get onto the texture.
