You could do it by moving the vert manually but when you come to merge verts they will have to move in order to become one. It's a good habit to get into using snap align on x,c and v as it is precise and as your models get more complex you will find it a very handy tool.

okay thanks mat for explanation ..also doing what you said about snap ...do you do that snap in side view or persp for best results ? sorry to bother you will all these sillie questions

If I'm snapping to a vert I would normally use the perspective view and ensure that the yellow square in the middle of the translate tool is selected, this means that the tool can move anywhere. If I just want to get in line with the vert I would use one of the orthographic views and select the relevant direction arrow, confining the vert movement to that plane, before I snapped.

Does that make sense, I hope so.

yes thanks for all your help and i will continue modeling after work. Man there is so much i been learning from doing all this ...


one thing i learned is just modeling you focus on one thing and then obsess over it

but thanks to everyone ..second model attempt is still going ... not giving up yet

yea i have to agree, its better to get used to snapping the just merging because if you snap a vert into another vert thats already in place, you dont have to worry about rearranging it

that did the job great. I never knew you could move vertices like that ...wish i know earlier when cleaning up the model. thanks again. More updates to come soon.

thanks mirek...yeah i started out seeing that the dragon said it is for all users and i was like well I will buy that and try it lol ..yeah times it is very rough but hey its for all users . I just thank god for everyone here ..they have helped out so much and got this far ...heck i am not going to lie ..for two days working on making the beak part but i iwill not give up ..i want to actually finish it ...Love maya ? well sometimes i do lmao I think it is just very amazing that some of these pro's do what they do...

i mean i would never have started it or got this far if it was not for there work also ..I mean everyone in this forum hvae kept me motivated ...there works are just something too just look at an appreciate ...cause everyone's work has its own uniqueness . i mean that is where my true drive comes from ...seeing other people and how they are progressing or just there work ...

well back to modeling ..I am going to stop rambling ...

hey all back with some updates . I have been busy moving to new place. Finally sat down and redid some parts of the eye and then beak ..still not happy with beak but will figure something out and added ears ..well let me know what you all think...
