I was thinking about what it would look like if you put something similar to your railings' elaborate decoration on the wings as well. But after looking at your image on page 6, meh...I'm not too sure now; it looks like it has enough with the "veins" on them. That aside, if you were to put some elaborate, swirling decorations on, I don't know if it would make it look too "heavy".
thanks for the imput severinianthony ,I am not sure I will have the time to do anything too elaborate on the wings.
I am detailing the rear body right now to give it a more mechanical look and it taking forever to complete

Yeah...you won't if you keep adding all those rivets!
Lol, kidding, it looks great. Not only the rivets, but the indentions in the "shell" to give it that plate-metal look...maybe put a trapdoor/hatch somewhere on the exterior? Y'know, one that opens up to reveal some inner machinery, or an engine room or matinence area...not that you have to model the interior! Just a door/hatch looking thing on the outside.
Thankyou guys ,to be honest if it wasn't no textures allowed I probably wouldn't have modelled the rivets and would have used a displacement map.
It's a lot of work but hey I want it to look it's best
severinianthony there is a couple of hatches planned but i want to leave something to surprize you on my final
gonna be close up renders from here on in ..hehe
don't forget, the next part IS texturing, so you don't have to go too crazy.
Looking sweet, though. I think maybe the small rivets are too dense. Like maybe get rid of every other two and perhaps make them not as straight. A tad bit of randomness to them might add a lot.
i might have a play with the rivets Mike and see what I like, the actual spacing at present is based on what they used to do in the Victorian era,oh they are not so straight either if you get up close
I know where you are coming from though regarding texturing .
