Yes you have done a lovely model but the poly poly count is high, I should have been more clear and say why not bake out a texture, normal and occlusion map to keep rendering time down............dave

The polycount will catch you later. Maybe when you reopen old files in a year or so. I tended to have massive polycounts aswell and somtimes it works, but when it comes to mapping, animation or even arranging in viewport it can be a killer.

The challange will be to adapt knowlege of modeling with waste of polys to a better polyflow with less polycount. Im sure you know that already.

Anyway...good modeling so far.

My computer will usually start crashing after 1mil polys. Sometimes even before that. However, I'm with you GecT, take advantage of your computer' capabilities and push it as much as you can. As you already know, the more details you model, the better it looks in a close up scene anyway. I think for this challenge, the "modeled" details will pay off in the end.

The new stuff you've modeled looks great. I think the book cover is fine like it is. Besides, I'm guessing the book won't be up too close in the final render.

Haha thanks guys. I'm torn, I did a test render and I'm not loving the cakes but I don't want to put too much time into these, so I don't know if I'm going to keep them, aah with a few tweaks I might. I might change the frosting, the hubby said it makes them look a bit "cartoony".
