Maya 2020 fundamentals - modelling the real world
Get halfway through a model and find it's an unworkable mess? Can't add edge loops where you need them? Can't subdivide a mesh properly? If any of this sounds familiar check this course out.

Hello mmoore,

it's good to see that you've not given up, you're making nice progress with your model. I noticed that you missed the top of the skull out (purple bit on the image), you could have a reason behind this but it makes the head look a little squashed. Also the frill needs to be opened out a bit if you're sticking to the plans. You could do this pretty easily by moving the bottom frond (is that the right word?) round a touch (illustrated in green).

Keep at it,

Mat.

I think your starting to get it, what does it look like in comparison with your reference images?

The beak still looks a bit too smooth and not pointed enough, easy to sort though.

It also seams to bulge a bit just behind the beak. Not sure if that's a problem or just artistic licence.

Matt, if your remember from mines, make a line that goes around the beak very close to the tip. I mean very close and then make sure the tip is merged. it will be sharp just like mines

also, lets see a wireframe of the dragon. The less lines you have, the more rounded things are. you might want to add one more poly row on the beak area. Make sure when you add it fix up the spacing between the others, try not to have un even spacing
