Get halfway through a model and find it's an unworkable mess? Can't add edge loops where you need them? Can't subdivide a mesh properly? If any of this sounds familiar check this course out.
Did the window handle, although some kind of bug in the chrome shader, so it has some black artifacts. Also changed the curtains material so they are a bit see-through. The lamp still needs some more things. AND.... there should be plants in the pots.... I'm not sure how to do them... I think I'm gonna try with some paint FX and convert them to polys.
Thanks Arran, yes I actually spent waaay to much time on detailing these... they got bump maps. Also bumps on the candles, but either they're too weak or I have to go even closer with the camera.
The first plant in the room makes an entrance... I found a model created in Xfrog on the web, and modified the textures. it's a bit too dark and the leaves looks a bit too symmetrical, but it's a start.
Ok, did some more small things in the other window area, however I did a LOT of measuring of all the windows and the strips and BOY was that boring and time consuming, but now it's done anyway. So here's another render. Forgot to change the wall paper around the radiator so it's reflective at the moment...
And here's a thermometer that should be placed by the window:
coldwave-
its not as simple as making materials.
The renderer (Maxwell) uses physically accurate light interactions. His materials are probably just slightly edited maxwell materials. but as i said, making something look real isn't easy at all... sorry, lol
