hey mirek, this might be a little bit slow, but I just picked up some architectural books and have one with some structural layout and dimensions of the Taj.
If you want I'll take some pictures/scan it up and upload them for you if you'd like.
There seem to be some dome dimensions in there too.
I'll check back in about an hour or two and will have the time to do that then.
Cheers.

hey that sounds great mate.., no not too late.., the tut is pretty well referenced.., but it all helps. the garden layout and such would be of use. anything to reference for shaders too.

and here is a composite, just a maya software pass with an occlusion pass multiplied over it and the opacity brought down slightly and the levl (mids) brought up.

the materials out of the book like I promised.
If you want the dimensions and cannot read them, let me know. There are several most useful dimensions scattered across the picture of the garden.
onto the good stuff!
They are pretty big so i just linked to them for your enjoyment.

Yeah I figured some of that stuff might atleast offer a bit of input that you otherwise may not have had. Plus it offers a bit of insight into the original design/plan.
I hope the dimensions for the garden helped.
If there is anything else I can do, let me know.
Things are looking good dude, keep it up. I've no complaints so far.

john mate, the base is harder than it looks eh!? thanks for the kind words.., im not very confident.., your the second person in the 'biz' today to say ive done a good job of it so far.
i think there is a lot more to 3D than making the model, i spend a lot of time and money trying to understand the renderers and lights, and then the compositing applications and how there are used.., this art is certainly no over night learning curve.., its worth it though
man you really have got some very fast work flows happening, anyone who has tried to make money from maya would immediately recognize the practicalities of this tut.., those that have time to kill may miss it.., dont know?? but its helped me a lot.
btw, i couldnt get that script to work (no biggie) .., im wondering if its me?? have you tried it in maya 2008??
alexanderH, yea, it was very interesting stuff.., im starting to think architecture is the window to the group human consciousness; amazing the hows and whys of some buildings.., and this one has many stories to tell.

Agreed. And I also agree that the render looks good.
Here I go again with the beer
