update

Ok I've decided to dump the other body as it was doing my head in! and I've decided to go for a much harder edged mech. I've done the main part of the body, it needs some tidying up and a few vertices merged but so far so good.

THe next stage for me is the head. I'm probably gonna follow the same style so C+C please and thanks! user added image

Whoa, you´ve captured that mecha essence, keep on it.
What was your insect again?
Is it a newbie entry or a normal entry?
-that way I´ll update everything-

a steg mech would be very very cool! but doesnt it have to be an insect mech? user added image

Ok I have put on a very quick head that needs to be given a lot more detail (The eyes are just for effect at the moment) I put on one leg and it looked a bit rubbish but I have put on six and I think it looks ok. What do you peeps think?

Time

Invested some time in modeling...created an engine for the middle part - with fully animateable opening...and exhaust....also integrated some feets, just to show how it should look like later....have to make them more mechanical than they look at the moment...just give me some time

That is looking absolutley wicked, I love that exhaust!!

I've added some detail to the legs and changed the air vents to some more appropriate ones. Starting to think about weapons right now. user added image Maybe some nice rocket launchers? I'll need a tracking system for that! user added image

Mechanical

Created now mechanical feets...(forward kinematics), and attached them seamless to the body, for better aerodynamic ;O))

last update for the day

OK I have added some weapons. I think i hurried the missiles too much and I will have to look for a better way of doing it. Comments would be most welcome on those!

I have added guns to the front where the mandibles would be and one underneath the main body. Pipes joining the legs to the body have also been added.

Hope you guys like it enough to crit it completley! and I hope the lighting is a little better on this one.

Alan
