This course will look at the fundamentals of modeling in Maya with an emphasis on creating good topology. We'll look at what makes a good model in Maya and why objects are modeled in the way they are.
Good. I hope so. I plan on rendering out a turntable animation of some sort of this, so I'm trying to be conscious of what it looks like from all sides.
And looking at these shots having posted them....
...it's not there yet I dont think.

shrunk those back a little. And a couple of other added areas of interest away from the main front view. Tried to break up the symmetry of the side views with the extra chains.
Prep done on this, so onwards. Laying down some basic colours, materials and textures to get a direction that suits. Struggling a little, especially with the ground (the dirt that he's standing on), but pleased overall I think.

Cheers. Now I'm starting to think it looks too busy. But the end is in sight I reckon, for the modeling and texturing anyhow...or a break at least. Rendered out a turntable tonight which has given me some clues about where and what should be on my do-list. A few more days and then a gap and a change I'm thinking...
