Complex UV Layout in Maya
Over the last couple of years UV layout in Maya has changed for the better. In this course we're going to be taking a look at some of those changes as we UV map an entire character

nice! make the turret alittle bigger so it can handle the bigger cannon.

Looks good, I'd tend to disgree with making the turret bigger as it looks wide enough in proportion terms. A bigger turret wouldn't deal with recoil anyway- that's not a primary function.

My opinion is the "turret" is too large. Sticking out wider than the base gives a very strange look, along with it being too tall. I reckon giving it a smaller diameter and shorter height. If you look at other armoured vehicles, like the tanks Witchy has posted, or BMP's the cylinder the main gun sits on is hardly visible during the vehicles normal operation. Remember that in that picture Witchy posted with the turret sitting on its mount, the majority of that large cylinder is inside the hull of the tank.

*SMACKs head* shadows duh, oh well too late, plus i think another render of this thing and my computers CPU fan will probably just shut down haha. My keyboard broke about T MINUS 1 hour to midnight, and i had to borrow one. I'm satisfied and if yall could just ignore the shadows for now id really apreciate it.
