Over the last couple of years UV layout in Maya has changed for the better. In this course we're going to be taking a look at some of those changes as we UV map an entire character

Just more practice in low poly modelling. The count is 216 triangles. Would like to know some thoughts on design. It is meant for a WWII soilder I am working on.

No comment on design, cause Im not all too good with knifes, but to me, it looks like you have alittle texture stretching goin on there. On the upper-left portion of the blade. Other than that, kool. user added image

I see what you are talking about with the stretching going on, I will continue to work on it. I actually did use a reference picture for the knife, which I found on yahoo. Just need more practice with modelling objects. Thanks for you time.

the blade design itself isnt that bad. But i think it needs to be sharper. If you would like a harder edhe use the soften harden under edit polygons>normals>SoftenHarden, I found its one of the most important tools for bladed objects in my opinion. The rest looks okay, but the handle needs to be longer, looks like the soldier would barely be able to grip it with 2 fingers.

Thanks Twisted, I'll mess around with that tool a little later tonight.
