Beer glass scene creation
This course contains a little bit of everything with modeling, UVing, texturing and dynamics in Maya, as well as compositing multilayered EXR's in Photoshop.

Hiding faces?

I know in Max you can select individual faces, and just hide them if you don't want them visible rather than having to delete them. Can you do that in Maya, and if so... how?

Thanks.

in your viewport there is an option under the view menu I think which is called isolate selected. So select the faces you don't want then invert your selection and select isoltae selected.

Not quite the same. I'm still want to view every other object and all newly created objects, just not certain polys on one object. It's nota view trick I was looking for, but rather the ability to actually hide polygons.

Thanks anyway.

Select faces of everything and then Show>Isolate Selected>ViewSelected , thin mark the faces you don't want to see and do the Show>Isolate Selected > Remove Select

unfortinutly you cant just strait away hide faces in the view. It would be nice though. If anyone has a better way please tell me also.
