Maya 2020 fundamentals - modelling the real world
Get halfway through a model and find it's an unworkable mess? Can't add edge loops where you need them? Can't subdivide a mesh properly? If any of this sounds familiar check this course out.

shadow problem

Anyone have any ideas on how to fix this?
My shadow goes nicely on the stairs, but it is very faint on the floor.

My light linking is connected to the castle, the kid, the stairs and the floor.. the floor os also set to receive shadows..

Any ideas?

could be something with the floor's material. it seem s very bright in the middle are.u should try to create a simple sphere and see if it casts a shadow on the floor when rendered or just to be safe , make light linking object-centric so u can be sure what is receiving light, and casting shadows.
