dual monitors

Anyone know what I need if I wanted to setup 2 monitors on one pc?

A craphics card (or two graphics cards) and OS that supports two monitors.

I've got a geforce 5900 ultra and I'm running xp

dont I need an adaptor or something to connect the two monitors?

The card has to have 2 plugins or use 2 seperate vid cards.

my graphics card got a DVI slot and a normal monitor slot so I assume that should be ok to setup 2 monitors

yes you should be cool.
If you nead to you can get a DVI to VGA adapter, but it should work fine. Once you try it you will never go back!

here's what you want
1) 2 monitors
2) and and adapter that supports two monitors or get another PCI card

if one of your monitors is DVI,, (since you seem to have a card that supports it)... you can go ahead and use dual monitors,
if you have 2 lcd's then you need to get a DVI to VGA adaptor.
or if both your monitors are normal VGA.. then you need to get a VGA to DVI adaptor... you dont need to be einstein to figure that out..
