Un-stretching an imported texture..?

Hello... I've another newb question ~_~

Let's say you import a stone texture for a fireplace, and when you apply it, the texture is stretched out of proportion - how/where do you modify it to your liking?

I hope that makes sense... I'm not good at explaining.

If you are talking about applying the texture to a poly surface you will need to map the uv's in order for the texture to be applied as you would like it.
you can find a tutorial on uv mapping here :https://www.simplymaya.com/movie_page...html?tut_id=21

hope this helps goodluck user added image
