P 51 D - Mustang

Started modeling this plane some days ago...invested some hours modeling so far...I'm not that fast using poly's at the moment..but I'm working on it...hope you like it anyway...started this project mainly for trying myself at UV-Texturing..never done that before...so hopefully it works the way I want it to work ;o)

I'll keep you up to date...

I love your model very nice. youve done a great job at getting the look of the plabe , very cool.
There are a lot of odd shapes , with the wing joing the body.
Did you statr out with nurbs, or is it totally poly.
very cool

Wanted to model the whole thing as Nurbs-Object, but after stitching the wings to the body leaded to ugly results, I thought, why not using Poly's insted of an extreme sliced Nurbs-Object....so I created the parts as Nurbs, converted them to Poly's and connected the whole thing. added some Details as Poly-Object aso.

still lot of work to do...especially make the whole thing more aerodynamic...no edges..floating lines...easier with Nurbs, due to the fact that you need less Isoparms to get the same result, but I'll stick with Nurbs now
