Hardware rendered shadoes on screen!

Hi all,
My company boss has just bought a new PC for our maya jobs.
3gig 3.6MHz blah blah blah!
But what I was really waiting to see is being able to see shadows in real time using the Quadro FX500 card, create a plane plus a cube create a spot light turn shadows on and you should be able to see the shadow move around the cube when I move the light!! BUT IT DOESNT
What settings would I need to do to the card, to be able to see this phnomononon?
Cheers all
