Complex UV Layout in Maya
Over the last couple of years UV layout in Maya has changed for the better. In this course we're going to be taking a look at some of those changes as we UV map an entire character

It looks nice but I would think you might want to show more wireframes and turntables if you're shooting for a modeling position. It's a nice general purpose (modelling/animation) reel, though. Good pieces in there.

Thanks, you have a good point. I think I was too worried about keeping it short so I cut out parts that I shouldn't have.

I liked the rock garden piece. I couldn't help but be disapointed that the ant didn't really move aside from the idle animation it had. I think the tricycle stops too suddenly.

What kind of work are you going for? Commercials, film, etc?

Keep it up!

Thanks for the input. I’m gonna add tire skid marks to go along with the stops, and smooth out the motion. I like your Medusa model, I remember seeing that challenge. As for what work I’m going for, any really. I’d like to do game cinemtics since the industry seems to be in great shape. If only I could get a shot at that flying Zorro Wal-Mart smiley, now that’s high end ;]

A little comment on the armor on the rack: the chains in the back should have some motion, not much just a little bit.

Its great and I really liked the lego part :-D

Looks good airhorn, I'd hire you...but not exclusively for Maya...*wink* *wink*. The only thing I'd change is the abrupt stoppage of the trike, but I told you that a while ago. Someone else made a good point, a nice slow swaying of the chains on the armor would be pretty cool!

I can't seem to get it to play?? It plays the opening with your name and then there's just black picture with sound...I made sure I had the right Divx codec. Would it be possible to get a .mov or .mpeg version?? user added image
