Over the last couple of years UV layout in Maya has changed for the better. In this course we're going to be taking a look at some of those changes as we UV map an entire character

smashing down brick wall

I am trying to figure out how to break down a brick wall. So far I have been using maya's shatter, in conjuction with rigid body collisions. I have not been able to get the look I want. Open to any suggestions.

I'd probably model the bricks manually rather than using shatter.

Other than that, using rigid bodies, gravity, etc. should work ok.

I wanted to do that originally, but the thought of modeling all those tiny bricks scared me. Is there a way to build all those bricks easily? Also, my original wall has graffiti on it, is there a way to project the graffiti image onto a bunch of separate modeled bricks, and still have the image broken up when they are knocked down?

model 3 or 4 slightly different bricks. Duplicate and move them.

Project your texture onto it using a texture projection user added image

and then apply the rigid body sim to it.
