Starting a model and how to make...

Hi!
I have a problem.
If i start lets say a robot head,
i dont know how to begin.
To start whit something i need a begin.
Thats a problem whit me.
And if i have a few parts of a body,
how can i put it into eachother,
whitout do it whit combine and union,
i mean to let it become 1 objeckt?

It dosn't have to be all once object, for mechanical things, I normaly don't bother joining them all the time.. Unless I'm going to texture a lot things that really are fused in real life. Just parint it togather if you need to move it all somewhere.

also if i am working on a mechanic thing i make cables
i do that whit the curves nurbs circle tool.
i make like 3 copyed rings but i cant combine it whit the polygons.
i dont know how i can make cables on a other way

You will need to select your nurbs cable go to modify> convert> nurbs to polygons. This will convert your nurbs cable into a polygon cable, now you will be able to combine your cables to the rest of your robot.
