Maya 2020 fundamentals - modelling the real world
Get halfway through a model and find it's an unworkable mess? Can't add edge loops where you need them? Can't subdivide a mesh properly? If any of this sounds familiar check this course out.

I started learning Maya in early 2002 when the school I was teaching at switched over. As for 3D in general, I started working in 3D in 1994. I was 19. Today, I'm working as an animator in the game industry.

i got my hands on xsi demo when i was 21-ish... and i think i trashed it when i got it in the mail, but then i saw adds in a videogame mag that they use xsi in a lot of games... then that sort of sparked my interest in 3d. that was 2 yrs ago.
i've been using maya ever since.... and the 3d community is very small where i am, so all the support i had and trainning was mostly from forums and books. user added image

I started with Real 3D on Amiga 500... 1991, 15 years old. So after 13 years I should be good then... hehe.. but I have had some breaks for some years here and there, and only do this as a hobby. Started with Maya this summer, and I learnt more this summer than I learnt in the last 13 years regarding 3D. Probably cause of the excellent program and this excellent site.

Started at age 19 (1991) in Infini-D on the Mac and AT&T Cyrstal Topaz on the PC. I started using Maya a little over a year ago.

I worked in the game industry, internet, and now I'm working on TV spots and some film work.

I was always fascinated by special effects and CGI in movies and actually only found out which programs were used to make it about 1 year ago. I decided I wanted to learn a 3D app in the hope of maybe making my own short or two in the future so i am learning Maya from books and tutorials and have been doing it now for 6 months. I am way too old at 42 years old to have aspirations of a career in 3D, only wish that when I went to college to get my qualifications as an electrical engineer way back when, that 3D was a career choice user added image OH to be young again ...hehe.
