Maya 2020 fundamentals - modelling the real world
Get halfway through a model and find it's an unworkable mess? Can't add edge loops where you need them? Can't subdivide a mesh properly? If any of this sounds familiar check this course out.

Wile E. Coyote

Im going to modelling, texturing and animation a short 30 thing with Wile E. Coyote (haven't go time for RoadRunner). If anyone has see Pixar's Knick Knack then that's sort of how the story goes. I will post some more pic's as he develops.

C & C most welcome.

I took it up as my first ever project from college and has to be finished in 2 weeks.

A big learning curve for me so I hope I can do this as good as it should be

Cheers, I know what you mean about the eyes. Maybe it's because they don't have the right texture on them yet.

Im rigging him at the moment and then going to start texturing everything (and find some backgrounds) then start animating.

i think you made his cheeks too long. i know that he has elongated cheeks but if you look at pictures of him, they're not quite that long.

That's a valid point, I only have 2 weeks to finish it but it's something I might alter it later on .... should still be good though.

i like him. very cool
but i think maybe joints would have been a little more efficient for a character like this for the facial set up.
and more flexible in terms of animation too.
very cool idea, cant wait to see him moving.

That might be something I would chnage if I was given the time again.

Knick Knack is a Pixar short about a Snowman in a snow globe trying to escape using cartoonie methods. My breif was ''Escape from a box'', so I decided to do the same sort of thing in the clasic WB style .... in 4 weeks. lol

But it's my first animation so it's all about the learning at the moment. user added image

.... that's my excuse at least ...
