Cutting Holes into Polys

I am in need of some help, I need to make a hole in a polygon object and i cant seem to find any way of doing it. Heres an example, i need to create a hole that goes all the way through a sword. Here you guys might know about the new final fantasy short film coming out and i wanted to make Cloud's buster sword.

Anyhelp on makeing holes in polygons would be great!

Hi there,

I'm new as well, but I think I can give you some help. After you create the polygon object, hold down the right mouse button, and select faces. Then select a face, and press delete on your keyboard.

Hope that helps.
