Spider TUT

Guys any idea why when i try and use split polygon tool when sorting out the rear leg i comes up with cannot start in a hole or cannot end on a hole?
there is no hole????

when i try to use the tool anywhere on that leg it does not work, i am totally lost, it is probably something stupid i am doing but hey...

When using split poly tool you have to start and end on existing edges. If you try and draw in the the middle of the face you might get one line but will usally disapear when you hit enter.

What I usally do is draw a few more edge lines going vertically and horizontally in the area that way it gives you more edges to use split poly tool to cut out the shape you are trying to get.

Its a bit hard to write in words hope you understand.

i think so - you mean before i unite the leg with the body is hould create more faces for it to attatch to?

sorted that now thanks kurt, another thing though any ideas why once i create a mel script and assign a hotkey why it does not stay assigned?
