Maya for 3D Printing - Rapid Prototyping
In this course we're going to look at something a little different, creating technically accurate 3D printed parts.

Indoor tests

Hi all,

This is some testing I'm doing to try and learn a bit more about lighting and MR. Obviously very simply geometry. What do you think so far? I plan on adding more objects around the room as I go.

Nice room so far amazinglex! user added image I think it would look awesome if you added a reflection or raytracing to the windows a bit....that would look really nice! Also, do you plan on having any furniture or anything in the room or no?

two other things i notice

1)not sure about the style, but most doors and windows have framesuser added image

2)the lights in the cielding come awfully close to the walls on the edges, might think about removing the outer row

just a thought for ya

THanks for your comments,

I do plan on adding some furniture and making the whole scene more believable overall.

The simple geometry was just to test some lighting and stuff. Now i will get to adding some details.

started adding some stuff arund the room.

the previous renders were done with MR. These are done with the Maya default renderer. What do you all think?

The window has too much reflectivity.. its almost a mirror user added image .. but... really i like more ur maya software renders than the mr renders... its always preferable to learn first the simple (maya soft) and then the complicated (mr) ways to render...

Keep it up, nice work u have there.

Amazinglex,
I know this is an old post, though do you still have this file? If so could I have a copy? I would like to see how you setup your lights and their properties. If not could you explain what you did?

I have the file.

I'll send it to you. All the textures will probably will be screwed but the lighting setup will be there.
