Introduction to Maya - Modeling Fundamentals Vol 2
This course will look in the fundamentals of modeling in Maya with an emphasis on creating good topology. It's aimed at people that have some modeling experience in Maya but are having trouble with complex objects.

snap has freaked out

If you want to snap one vertex to the grid in the y-axis, you move the vertex with the y-axis gizmo and hold and press the V-key. That doesn't work now...! The vertex like flickers bertween two places...Have checked the preferences and can't find anything strange there.

V is for point snap, use X for grid snap...

That's not the problem, all snap modes behave the same way: not right.

check your move tools settings and make sure you are in world space coord as opose to local. and its X for grid snap.

Thanks Vlad, it was on "Along Rotation Axis", changed it to "World" and now it works fine!
