sourcing maya scripts

i have recently created some mel scripts and i want these scripts to be activated every time i open my maya software. i learned how to source scripts but even if i source them maya doesn't read them the next time around after i reopen the program.
i think i have to save the MEL file in a spacific location but idon't know where.
Can someone who knows about MEL scripting help me out PLEEZ!!!!!!!!!!!!
OH and could someone tell me a website where i could learn more about MEL scripting and the whole maya interface.
OR MAYBE someone could tell me the name of a book where i could learn more about this.
thanks my PPL. peace out>.
P.S. keep praying for those people suffering in ASIA. i got some freinds over there................GOD Bless........

C:\Documents and Settings\[Username]\My Documents\Maya\Scripts

In there you might have a userSetup.mel file. If it is not there create one. THen just type in the name of the script you use to activate the script.

so your saying to just create an MEL file that is called userSetup.mel and do what with it.
do i type the command to source the script in there..
give me an example of what should i type inside of the file
userSetup.mel. i tried what i think u told me to do but when i opened maya it didn't work still. or maybe it is just the MEL COMMAND i wrote.
