There are many different types. I've been focussing on OpenGL benchmarks. I figured Maya uses OpenGL and if there is going to be a slow down it's probably going to be during these calculations.
Exactly, thats why I suggested you look at the performance. For the small difference in speed of CPU, I would go for the cheapest f the 2 CPU's and spend the money saved on more ramI would concentrate on rendering speed instead of just OpenGL.
