sea waves

I wan to make a sea environment, actually I did it, but I don’t know how to animate the waves.
If there is anyone to help me I’ll be glad to accept it.
Thanks,
Arthur.

On way of doing this would be turning the sea surface in to a soft body and control the waves with a turbulence field.

if you don't want too much geometry, you could also simulate this with a texture, although, up close, it'd be pretty obvious. Perhaps just for the distant parts of the ocean surface.
