Lampshade light

I've created a Nurbs lamp with a shade and want to light it. If i use a point light for the bulb, how can i get the light to emit through the lampshade? I've been unable to get it working as yet, the light is emitting from above and below only. Thanks for any advice.

You can unlink the pointlight from the lampshade user added image

The only problem, it won't cast shadows now.

You could also create two spotlights and fake the lighting provided by the point light.

Spots are quite usefull to shape whichever lighting condition you need.

Hope it helps!

Wow, thanks. I never realized it would have been a problem. I felt sure you'd be able to make adjustments to the light and the shader on my lamp to achieve this. I'll see what i come up with.
