Modelled using poly cylinders for the body sections - then shaped to make the arms/legs etc. Then combined and merged with the torso. The Head was created using the CPS method. Starting with the face profile I created a Poly shape to match - then extruded in sections and moved the verts to the correct places.

May go with Alpha hair on nurbs. Tested paint effects yesterday - had issues getting the paint effects to cast shadows correctly. Looking at info on the web I have changed the spot light shadow settings and the 'cast shadow' options in the PFX hair attributes. But no joy:

With Shadow and Spot light settings as per Highend3D faq:

With changing the Spotlight settings:

You can see the difference the shadow settings make to the model (left PFX hair - right: nurbs test):

Up until the hair, the dress material gave the biggest problems - trying to match the fine 'net' look of the ruffles was difficult. In the end I have gone for a modified velvet shader. But its still being tweaked!!

Any ideas or tips on the hair would be great!
