DAW

Hi Gang

Well I enjoyed my trip to the Digital Arts World and learnt quite a few tricks, it's nice to actually meet people in the 3D World and talk shop. The show did disapoint me a little bit - it wasn't very big.

Unfortunately, since I was in on most of the conferences on the day I went (Friday) I didn't get to look around that much...

I did get to watch the German bloke doing the Maya Trax demos - very cool, similar to actions and choreo actions in Animation Master. Then I saw the Maya Learning Books and snapped up the Character Rigging & Animation one at £65 - ouch! - but seems well worth it. Apparently Digital domain are doing the Learning Maya Stuff reduced by 10% check it out:

Expect to see loads rigged characters in the WIP from me using the Trax editor!

Oh well that's my two bobs worth, back to me book!

Bit extra!

When Fritz was showing his tutorial on blend shapes there was a gizzmo which you can download from AW's website which sits on the shelf and allows you to have pose sliders in a dialogue box.

I cannot remember the name of it but if anyone knows what this is and where to get it I would appreciate it. I cannot seem to find it on the AW website...

How to use it

Hope it helps ...

(btw: Both Links are inside the Aliaswavefront Maya Community Site so, if you get a Permission Denied just signup and navigate yourself in -It´s in the Mel Scripts area-)
