logo onto of an image - maya

hey there,

right so i'm trying to place a logo onto an image texture in maya, the logo does have its own alpha channel and so does the main image im trying to place the logo over.

the logo is being planar projected over the top of the geometry with the image set under "default color" in the projection node.

now what i want to do is make a transitional blend- which is basically removing the black and making it transparent, i did think of mapping the transparency option to a ramp but since the image is connected to the logo itself, making it transparent would make the entire texture node transparent.....

sorry if i've confused you all... don't quite know how to explain it myself lol.

any ideas?
