Hardware Render Buffer ANIMATION?

I want to render 10 frames through the Hardware Render Buffer.

So I go to Window>Rendering Editors>Hardware Render Buffer. I set the start and end frame to 1 and 10. I go to Render>Attributues>Image Output Files>Image Format. WHICH FILE TYPE DO I CHOOSE TO MAKE AN ANIMATION!?!? And after I choose the file type I Render>Render Sequence, but I don't know if the file(s) save anywhere. PLEASE HELP

The reason I'm using the Hardware Render Buffer is because I need to display some objects as wireframe, and others with shading. I can do that through the render buffer.

you need to set you maya project (file > set project) that tells maya where to save the files! and choose tiffs as your "FILE TYPE DO I CHOOSE TO MAKE AN ANIMATION" that way you can turn it into an animation afterwards.
