Maya to max import question

Hello.

I have a 3ds file that contains a full model, rigg and textures all in one scene. How can I import all of these components so that they will all still work in Maya. Right now I export the scene as an OBJ file and import that in maya. That seems to work well for just getting the geometry to come over, but the rigg and textures either dont work, or are no where to be found. Any help would be wonderful. Right now I am importing from Max7 into Maya 4.5.

Thanks.

Your going to want to use the FBX Import/ exporter.
try going HERE

you might have to re do your UVs.

Edit.. Max7 has it in the export functions, but you will need it for Mayauser added image
