How to model a tree

Im want trees to my new project. Is there any tuts with tree modeling?

ih, i duno about tuts for modeling a tree, if u wana model it id start with making a rigid circular kinda shape using the create poly tool, then extrued it upwards add horizontal divisions then move verts around, add branches and stuff, leaves wud be harder but u cud just make one and copy/paste it, or maybe just make a flat square plane and in photoshop draw and paint the leaves and then use a transparency map or something to make it look like there are individual leaves, if u dont wana do all that theres some trees in the maya visor

Unless you're doing this just to see if you can make a tree, I'd recommend using paint effects and playing with various settings for whichever treetype you use. Once you're happy with the look of the tree you can always convert it to polygons.

thanks for the tip, I tried the paint effect tree but i dont know how to create more leafs on that tree. is it possibleuser added image

yes, experiment with the attributes in the channel box or attribute editor. Numbers of items (branches, leaves, etc) are usually under a "seed" setting.
