To lower the details to a very low detail level.

well, it's so white that I can even see where the legs bend for example. Even LOW DETAIL has DETAIL . Beyond that, how about some other views or wire?

I would call it "no detail robot"

When you say "low detail" people think of low-poly game models, which can still look very good.

As far as the actual design goes, it's lacking some items that robots usually have- mechanical joints, seams where pieces of metal meet, and the proportions are a little wacky.

looking at bright white on near pitch black is difficult... and since those are opposing colours (on the colour spectrum) it kinda hurts the eyes if you look at it for a sustained period, because of that people can't identify some of the elements.

first impressions were that it was way too clean... and the bottom half looks like a incondesence map, what i would do is if you want a white clay render - render the thing in mental ray with white background.

btw are you using shader glow?...
